Opened in 1988, the NY Mets’ spring training facility in Port St. Lucie, Florida had become outdated and was not capable of meeting the team’s future needs or fan expectations.
JLGA designed a renovation and expansion for the 7,000-seat facility that includes new picnic terraces, a bermed seating area, expanded offices, locker facilities, a new elevator tower and façade.
The construction of a new level provided additional private suites and open-air party terraces. A new Hydroworx wet training suite provides the trainers with the very latest aquatic training and rehabilitation equipment for athletes. The surrounding wetlands were utilized to control storm water runoff and to provide a nature park for fans to enjoy.
