SURGICAL TRAINING CENTER AND DISSECTION LAB
In the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy, JLGA provided a feasibility study and redeveloped 30,000 SF of heavily damaged below grade space for a major New York Health System’s School of Medicine.
The new cutting-edge space in the Research and Learning Center includes a new interactive Learning Center and Learning Lab for the Department of Plastic Surgery. A viewing window and interconnected A/V systems connect the two spaces.
Flexibility has been designed into the Learning Center, allowing it to be used as a stand-alone seminar room, a long-distance learning space and a teleconferencing center. The facility additionally has a dedicated reception entrance, lounge, and A/V infrastructure throughout.
Due to the location below the flood plain, the scope of work included flood mitigation measures.
